The first day of Spring


Nowruz begins with the beginning of spring on
March 21. According to the Persian poet, Ferdowsi,
Nowruz was created by King Jamshid about
11000 years ago and it has been celebrated during
Achaemenian period, especially by the
Persian king, Cyrus the Great in the 6th century BC.
Cyrus was the first ruler in history to give his subjects,
freedom of opinions and other basic rights and
Cyrus Cylinder is considered the first charter of human rights.
Nowruz is the Persian New Year
and is celebrated by Persians all around the world.
