Memorizing or thinking?

Some educational systems are based on memorizing informations. The type of exams requires the learners to write what they have already memorized and lacks any creativity, critical or independent thinking! What is the use of memorizing like a parrot?! Nothing is added or created, just the same information is repeated. The learners will not be able to see, analyse beyond the surface; they will think 2+2=4 . But critical thinking teaches us that it is not always the case. Creativity makes us to understand that there are more than one answer to a question depending the circumstances.

It is hard to believe that some people have not heard of the delicious fruit called "quince". I doubt anyone can resist its dreamy scent. They are used to make jams, jelly, pudding and cakes. Some varieties of quince can be eaten raw; it is very tasty.

Spring begins

March 20th is the first day of wonderful season, spring. Renewal of nature and freshness make us happier and is the best time for the fresh life. This special day has been celebrated by Persians for thousands of years specially from the Cyrus the Great period; he proclaimed the oldest known declaration of human rights in 520 BC. He respected the religions of the lands he conquered and because of his policies in Babylonia, he is referred by Jewish Bible as Messiah, the only non-Jew to be called so. He has been the personal hero to many people including Thomas Jefferson who was the principle author of Declaration of Independence (1776). Cyrus the Great was praised for freeing the slaves and humanitarian equality. From the Mediterranean Sea in the west to Indus river in the east, Cyrus created the largest empire the world has yet seen and ruled fairly.

The concept cannot be destroyed

It was on the news that destruction of the historical sites, burning ancient books and ruining anything related to culture is still happening in 21st century. It is very sad indeed that they are trying to strip a nation of anything that may give them some sort of pride, their cultural heritage. But what they cannot recognize is that no one, absolutely no one is capable of destroying the concept. The concept of these historical sites has been recorded in the history and remains forever.
