A rare piece of art

This magnificent crown is made of 22 carat gold and has 450 emeralds on it. It is currently kept in the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City. I should say that it is one of the most beautiful pieces in the museum. It is definitely worth to visit the museum for watching this fascinating piece closely because no picture can do justice and reveal its unique beauty. It is called the Crown of the Andes and it was made in Colombia in 16th century.

  1. The best emeralds come from Colombia.
    This piece is fantastic.
If you're ever in Bogotá, Colombia . . . you should visit the Gold Museum,
where there are more pieces like this crown. They are rich with gold, too.
    Thanks for sharing.
